Born in 1984 in Okinawa, Japan

YU studied performing arts and took lessons in vocal training and dancing in 1995 at Okinawa Actors' School, a renowned entertainment training school in Japan.

In 1999 debuted as a main vocal of ""y'z factory"", a dance pop unit, after receiving wide recognition of her physical ability, talent, and well proportioned un-Japanese-like slender figure with inside leg measurement of 83 centimeters and height of 170 centimeters.

Released 6 EPs and 1 Album. Unit dispersed in 2002.

Became a model under exclusive contract with women's fashion magazine CanCam in December 2000. Received vast and continuous support from female readers right after her first appearance in the magazine, YU became one of the top models in Japan and her increasing popularity pushed the magazine's circulation up to 600.000 copies of sales in 2007.

YU started appearing on TV, drama, and movies frequently from 2001 and her acting ability started getting recognized as she appeared in several successful works.

From 2003 to 2006, served as a first female main commentator for Formula One Grand Prix (CXTV). While visiting the circuits all around the world as commentator, YU debuted in Paris Collection as Yumi Katsura's MUSE, a Japanese wedding dress designer in 2004.

Appeared as a main model in "Tokyo Girls Collection", a fashion show which is widely noticed by Young Generation these years.

Recognized as a queen of CM in Japan in recent years, YU keeps playing an active role as image model of a great number of manufacturers and brands.

In addition, publication such as CD and photograph collection. Now as the existence which has “sky’s the limit” talent most the existence which draws attention.
